OPHTHA is a free, non-commercial, editorially independent website without any external financial support.

The idea for a website for Ophthalmology residents was born during the coronavirus pandemic. The goal was to create a website that gives beginners, as well as advanced residents, pragmatic and straightforward guidance on how to proceed with the most common ophthalmic problems.

While most hospitals do have a manual that covers the most common administrative and medical processes, many times the handling is too cumbersome to be really helpful during a busy working day or on duty.

Many thanks to Muriel Spörri and Armin Handzic for their extensive personal notes, which we were allowed to use as a basis for the website and which made our work much easier.

The result after extensive revising, adding, and editing can now be seen on OPHTHA.
