Definition

  • Loose and redundand skin on the eyelids, more pronounced on upper eyelids, age-related
    • CAVE: Dermatochalasis is not the same as Blepharochalasis: recurrent episodes of painless oedema of both upper eyelids, usually familial, mainly young people affected

Surgical Indication

  • binocular horizontal visual field < 140°
  • keratopathy due to cilium ptosis/trichiasis due to upper eyelid entropion

Therapy

  • Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
